What is Image Upscaling?
Upscaling is a common image processing need, but ordinary scaling produces blur and pixelation. This tool uses Lanczos-3 separable-filter resampling by default, a well-regarded high-quality resampling method that preserves edge detail and minimizes aliasing, ideal for preparing small images for print, display or further editing.
Key Features
- Multiple scales: 2x, 3x, 4x presets plus custom scale.
- Lanczos interpolation: default high-quality Lanczos-3 resampling, sharper than bilinear/bicubic.
- Bicubic mode: progressive pyramid upscale, faster.
- AI upscale: optional external AI upscale API (multipart upload, Authorization supported).
- Output format: PNG (lossless), JPEG (adjustable quality), WebP.
- Preserve EXIF: keep image EXIF when possible.
- Local processing: default algorithm runs entirely in the browser for privacy.
How to Use
- Upload an image to enlarge (JPG / PNG / WebP / GIF).
- Choose an algorithm (Lanczos by default) and scale (2x / 3x / 4x / custom).
- Choose output format and JPEG quality, optionally preserve EXIF.
- Click "Upscale", preview the result and download the image.
