Curtain Fabric Calculator

Estimate fabric like a home-textile worksheet: styles, separate window vs curtain sizes, fullness, bolt width, header/hem and waste. Shows total / body / header / waste, plus track, hooks and optional sheer.

How to use

  1. Pick a style (flat / pleat / roman / rod / tie)—defaults for fullness and header update
  2. Enter window size, then “Suggest from window” (about +25 cm each side, +20 cm height)
  3. Set fullness (~1.5–3), bolt width (140/150/280/300 cm), header, hem and waste (5–15% typical)
  4. Optionally enable a sheer layer for double curtains

Formulas

  • Cut width = curtain width × fullness
  • Panels = ceil(cut width ÷ bolt width)
  • Body = panels × (curtain height + hem) / 100 m
  • Header = panels × header height / 100 m (0 = none)
  • Waste = (body + header) × waste%; total = body + header + waste
  • Track ≈ window width + 30 cm; hooks ≈ cut width ÷ 10 cm

Save fabric

  • Wider bolt → fewer seams
  • Lower fullness → less fabric
  • Shorter header → less fabric
